I find joy in researching and planning a trip, whether for myself or my family. It’s hard to discern whether it’s due to my FOMO (working on shedding that) or profound curiosity or some of both.

I decided to take a few extra days to drive to this conference. Airfares were pricey and it was an opportunity to revisit parts of the country I hadn’t seen for nearly 20 years, as well as make new tracks. By design, I took a detour.

It’s so much easier to put pen to paper around the surface level, interstate variety view of my trip because I’m still processing the totality of the rest of the experience. In the meantime, and in honor of just getting started, I’ve put together this trip guide.
